Third-generation travertine expert Mario Caucci, based in Tivoli, Italy, supplies the world’s finest stone to an extensive list of high-profile international clientele, including Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, the Singapore Airport, and now Skye by Pikos – Australia’s largest stone project, currently under construction in Kangaroo Point.

Rising above the Kangaroo Point cliffs from its River Terrace location, Skye will feature up to 18,000 sqm of travertine - 18 times more stone than the average residential project. Pikos Group Founder and Director, Pedro Pikos, travelled with Pikos Executive Director Simon Cathcart and interior architecture and design expert Julie Williamson to hand-select the perfect travertine finishes for Skye’s 69 residences and penthouses. Mr Pikos said it was crucial to select the travertine in person.

“Skye by Pikos is currently the largest stone project in Australia, and it was essential that we viewed the stone in person, in natural light, to ensure it aligns with our vision for the project,” Mr Pikos said.

“Like people, stone has its own unique identifiers.

"Tivoli produces the finest travertine in the world and the Roman Travertine we’ve selected for Skye has an incredible colour and quality.

“It was an incredible experience to spend time in the quarry and experience first-hand the extensive process involved in extracting and working the stone.”

Pikos Group Chief Executive Officer Michelle Wooldridge said the group selected White Navona for the penthouses and classic Roman Travertine for the rest of the apartments, creating a luxurious connection between the timeless elegance of Italian stone and Skye’s contemporary, subtropical design.

“The stone we’ve chosen for Skye will provide an exquisite natural canvas for our buyers to bring to life with their own furnishings and personal style,” Ms Wooldridge said.

“The stone will arrive in Australia early next year and will be tested and installed by leading craftsmen.

"It’s a conversation piece in its own right.”

Ms Wooldridge said every luxury detail had been carefully curated to deliver an unrivalled standard of finishes, from the hand-picked Italian travertine to the inclusion of the state-of-the art V-Zug household appliances from Switzerland.

Skye is currently under construction by Tomkins and is expected to be completed mid-2025. Upon completion, Skye will deliver 69 ultra-luxe residences across three boutique buildings, including a mix of two residences per floor, four sub penthouses, two penthouses, and one grand penthouse.

Exclusive resident amenities include a 1,000 sqm skyline aquatic and dining lounge spanning more than 250m, featuring a luxe rooftop infinity pool with 360-degree panoramic views. Capitalising on its iconic location overlooking the Kangaroo Point cliffs, Skye is less than a minute from The Cliffs Boardwalk and the Brisbane River, with its network of ferries and green bridges.
