OSK Property, in collaboration with Multiplex, has begun construction on BLVD, the latest tower in the $3 billion Melbourne Square precinct.

The 74-storey tower construction commenced this week, less than a year after its official launch in October 2023, and is expected to complete by Q1 2028.

"The BLVD groundbreaking represents a major milestone for the Melbourne Square precinct, which has two existing towers and will also feature a build-to-rent tower alongside the build-to-sell residences," said OSK Group Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Ong Leong Huat.

Melbourne Square has already made a significant impact on the Southbank precinct with public amenities, such as a 3,745sqm park, full-line Woolworths supermarket, an early learning centre, and numerous retail destinations.

Adding to this, BLVD will introduce much-needed residential stock, offering 602 residences with a host of amenities. These will include private dining rooms, state-of-the-art gyms, a 25m indoor swimming pool, sauna, golf simulator, spa, entertainment and lounge spaces, and a double-storey co-working area covering levels 55 and 56.

Echoing its commitment to sustainability and the wellness of residents, BLVD also boasts carbon-neutral operation-enabled residences, a gas-free design, EV charging stations, a zen garden, and other premium facilities. Wellbeing-focused design features will further boost the building's appeal. The project seeks WELL Certification, representing industry excellence in meeting stringent sustainability goals.

“Multiplex is proud to be partnering with OSK once again on the Melbourne Square precinct, one of Australia’s largest and most exciting development projects," said Regional Managing Director of Victoria and South Australia at Multiplex, Ross Snowball.

"After delivering the first two towers, we are excited to deliver the third tower, BLVD - continuing the same community legacy we started back in 2017."

The City of Melbourne Deputy Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony, praised the project for its transformational potential, saying, “Melbourne Square homes give residents access to all that we love about Southbank.

"Arts institutions that are second to none.

"Proximity to the central city and to the beach – to the Botanic Gardens and, importantly, to community facilities already enjoyed by those who live in Southbank.

"BLVD will be a transformational development for Melbourne’s CBD, adding critical housing stock to the market as well as important residential and local amenities."

OSK Property recently also unveiled ‘Guardian Lion’ by Troy Emery, a new public art installation at Melbourne Square. The artwork is due to grace the Melbourne skyline later this year.
